Tyrannosaurid Coprolite Fossil in Collectors Box x 1

Piece of Tyrannosaurus Rex coprolite fossil in collectors box. Coprolite is literally fossilized poo that has become mineralised. The coprolite contains digested bone fragments. The name comes from the Greek word Kopros, meaning dung. This type of fossil provides useful information as to the behaviour and diet of the animal. This dinosaur is from the Theropod group. It was up to 43 feet long and up to 7.5 tons in weight. It was bipedal, meaning that it moved on the two lower legs. The small arms would have been used to hold prey, and huge powerful, sharp teeth would have crushed the food, including the bones from other smaller dinosaurs. The box it comes in has a glass window with black surround. It would make an interesting educational gift or addition to a junior collection

Date: 67 Million years Old; Hell Creek Formation
Provenance: Eastern Montana, USA
