Fossilized section of scaphoid tiny bones from a European Cave bear; Ursus Spelaeus. They come from an old collection and some of them have the collectors catalogue numbers inscribed on them. . The European Cave bear is a prehistoric species that lived in Europe and Asia during the Pleistocene and became extinct some 24,000 years ago.The bear ranged from around 400 to 1000 kg and the head was large. The bones come from the scaphoid which is one of the hand bones. Supplied in a small acrylic collectors box.
