 Polished Labradorite Crystal Heart with Hand Crafted Steel Display Stand-  

Hand polished labradorite gemstone heart , displaying varying degrees of either deep blues , greens and gold areas of colour, particularly when turned towards the light. This is on a background of grey-green stone. This particular one has flashes of pink/purple colour when tilted to the light. A member of the Feldspar family , silicates class A. It was discovered in the 18 th Century. The name labradorite is derived from the area called Labrador in Canada, as it was here that the stone was first mined. Folklore of the Inuit people, claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the aurora Borealis.The remarkable display of colour is known as labradorescence. In healing circles, it is thought to bring transformation, imparting strength and perseverance. Supplied with a locally hand crafted steel display stand, painted black and small green card pictured.

Condition: Labradorite is very hard to photograph. Please be aware I have tried to show as much as I can . However, as it is a natural gemstone, there are minor flaws, and this is the case with most of the listings you see. I have done my best to try to show the crystal as clearly as possible. While there may be some superficial flaws, the piece, seen in its entirety and correctly positioned towards the light, reveals the vibrant colours.However, please be aware that while I do my best to show these, I am relying on the camera and my skills, but please enlarge the pictures and judge for yourself. I buy the labradorite from a reputable source. Some of pictures may appear larger or smaller due to angle used to catch the light.
