 Labradorite Freeform Crystal from Madagascar 240 gm 8.4 x 5.2 x 3.4 cm

Hand polished labradorite freeform ,displaying varying combinations of  /gold /blue colours when turned towards the light. This is on a background of grey-green stone. A member of the Feldspar family , silicates class A. It was discovered in the 18 th Century. The name labradorite is derived from the area called Labrador in canada, as it was here that the stone was first mined. Folklore of the Inuit people, claim Labradorite fell from the frozen aurora Borealis. The remarkable display of colour is known as labradorescence. In healing circles, it is thought to bring transformation, imparting strength and perseverance. Please be aware that it can look quite dull, so you have to position it to catch the light in order to get the colours that I have captured in the pictures.
Provenance: Madagascar
Size: 240 gm 8.4 x 5.2 x 3.4 cm
Condition: Labradorite is very hard to photograph. Please be aware I have tried to show as much as I can, however, as it is a natural gemstone, there will be minor flaws, and this is the case with most of the listings you see. I have done my best to try to show these. While there may be some superficial flaws, the piece, seen in its entirety and correctly positioned towards the light, reveals the vibrant colours. However, please be aware that while I do my best to show these, I am relying on the camera and my skills, but please enlarge the pictures and judge for yourself. I buy the labradorite from a reputable source, and do my best to try to show the stone as honestly as I can. Please enlarge the pictures to see them and message me with any queries prior to purchase, as I am here to help.
