Fossil Fern Pinnule from Seed Fern in Nodules with a stand
More unusual plant remains from Mazon Creek-When magnified, you can discern plant cell structure. It is most likely a pinnule from a seed fern. The most common one would be Neuropteris although the more rounded shape means it could be Cyclopteris, however, both LInopteris and Pariopteris pinnules are very similar. However, it does appears to be a pinnule from a seed fern. Any one of the following 4 genera - Neuropteris, Cyclopteris, LInopteris or Pariopteris
