Lepidodendron is an extinct genus of primitive lycopodian vascular plants belonging the order Lepidodendrales. It is well preserved and common in the fossil record. Like other Lepidodendrales Aculeatum ,species of Lepidodendron grew as large-tree-like plants in wetland coal forest environments.
