Lapis Lazuli is formed by multiple minerals including lazurite, sodalite, calcite and pyrite. The hearts are a royal blue with flecks of sparkling pyrite ( fools gold). They are both smooth and tactile .This lapis lazuli comes from Afghanastan where it has been mined for 6000 years .It is steeped in history and has had many uses including jewellery, healing and for cosmetics. Lapis Lazuli is used in healing circles, and is related to the throat and brow chakra. It is said to be a stone of communication, truth , friendship and harmony. It is a December birthstone.
